It's beginning to look like Christmas!

I have started to write my Christmas cards. Usually a very lengthy process, as we have lived in several places over the course of our lives, which means we have lots of friends dotted in and around London. Though I must admit we haven't seen some of them for about thirty years now, but it is nice to catch up at Christmas time.

Anyway, today I had to go to the post office, so I thought I would buy a few postage stamps. I bought 50 and could hardly believe it when the lady said it was almost £28. Perhaps I should stick to sending e cards. But then, I thought it through and remembered how nice it is to receive Christmas cards through the door every day during the month of December, so maybe I will stick with it and simply start buying fewer stamps at a time. Still actually spending the same, but less noticeable - if you see what I mean

My book is still with the publisher. He sent me a couple of photo suggestions for the cover a couple of days ago, however I didn't think either were appropriate. So now I am waiting hear from again. Once the cover is sorted, I can start to organize some promotional stuff.

I am sitting here typing this in the midst of goodies all waiting to wrapped up for Christmas. We will be meeting up with my sister and her husband shortly, as well as our niece and her family, when we will all exchange presents. Even though we don't live all that far away, we don't see them very often, so it is good to get together just before Christmas.

In case you haven't noticed, I now have a button on the page where you can subscribe to my mailing list. I don't send out messages very often. It's usually to let people know when my books are on special offer. 😃

I have also added a link straight to Amazon for those who were planning to go there next!  It's quite big - you can't miss it! 😃

I think that is all for the moment.

Take care all and have a great day wherever you are!

Cheers!!

Exciting Times!

The Exciting news today is that I have sent off my latest novel to my publisher and at this very moment a proofreader is going through it.

I say exciting news, because it is really a very exciting time for me. It seems to have taken me ages to actually write this book.  At one time I didn't think I would ever get to the end of it - but here I am waiting to hear more news from my publisher.

The novel is called Murder on Tyneside and is set on the quayside of Newcastle on Tyne, and Gateshead, (I was born in Gateshead). Therefore if there are any Geordies reading this, I do hope you will order a copy when the book is released.

Now I need to concentrate on writing the perfect blurb for the novel; something that will whet the appetite of all readers out there.

Meanwhile, here in Kelso, we are still enjoying some sunny weather, though I have to say it is very cold. However, it could be worse, it could be snowing. I have heard that because of the lovely autumn, we could be in for a hard winter. I hope not!

How many of you are preparing for Christmas? My sister starts her Christmas list around Easter!

I am not like that I am usually running around at the last minute. However, this year I do seem to have got my act together and have bought a few Christmas presents. Now I will have to try to remember where I have put them...

In a few minutes the Sainsburys' man will be calling with my shopping. It is so handy having the groceries delivered into my kitchen. Though I should add the place is in chaos after he has gone. Putting them all away seems to take forever.

Well I think that is all for the moment,
Have a great day wherever you are

Cheers!!
