Where Are The Short Stories?

Has anyone noticed that magazines have been slowly cutting short stories from their pages?

Why is this happening? I'm sure that there are a great number of people out there, who enjoy reading a spot of fiction in Women's Magazines. Yet, short stories are continuing to disappear.

  1. Hi, Eileen
I spotted you over at Teresa's
There's a page here on facebook for those of us trying to save fiction in womags:

    savefictioninwomensmags@groups.facebook.com

    Also: If you go here
http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/family/471247/Woman-s-Weekly-Fiction-Guidelines - you can ask Gaynor or Clare (WW editors) a question or just praise them for the fiction in the weekly and the Fiction Special. You can use your fb account to sign in but I found it easier to register with my name and email (email addy only accepts all lower case)

  2. Yes, it's a shame. I'm told that Take a Break are dropping their fiction slot too! I think it's all this 'true life' misery stuff that people like to read rather than stories?? They must be mad... It's so depressing...
