The idea is that all members rally around and give a big shove to the current member of the month by promoting their books. In turn this will bring the attention of the readers out there to this particular member's work.
I joined the group few months ago and have really enjoyed my time as a member. The idea behind the group, founded by Nonnie Jules, is that the members all help promote each other's work. Believe me, independent authors need all the help they can get. It is a tough world out there with lots of new new books being published every day.
Anyway, I threw myself into the group with gusto! retweeting, sharing, promoting, reading and reviewing other members' work as best I could. I should add that one of the rules is that your reviews are totally honest.
They also run competitions etc. You might recall that I was promoting the RRBC Block Trailer Party a few months ago, where we invited everyone to check out and leave comments on the trailers to the various books on offer. Prizes were given to the most interest comment.
If anyone reading this is a writer, they might like to check out this group for themselves. Simply follow the link above to find out all they do to help their members.
I am following in the footsteps of Maggie Thom, MOM for February. She is a wonderful writer. I thoroughly enjoyed her novel, Captured Lies. So she is a hard act to follow. But I must add, she is only one of the truly great writers in the group.
And I think that is all for the moment.
But before you log off, why not check out the group, after all, it might be just what you are looking for.!
Cheers!

I just discovered the group in January and joined thanks to other members directing me toward RRBC. What a fantastic support group! Congrats on being Member of the Month, Eileen. Wishing you all the best!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your good wishes. I have been a member for about six months. Yes, it certainly is a great support group. Good luck with your writing. Cheers!
Deletecongratulations Eileen. Haven't I seen you on the Sunshine Book Show as well? I'm picking up the Trojan Project today. It's different from what I generally read. (although, I must admit, I am eclectic.)

DeleteThank you so much for your comment, Patricia. No, I can't recall being on The Sunshine Book Show.
DeleteI do hope you enjoy The Trojan Project. However, if you aren't into conspiracy thrillers with a touch of suspense and horror, I also have two lighter novels out there at the moment. Divorcees.Biz and Only Twelve Days.
Thanks again for your comment. Cheers!!
